Middle eastern dessert

     Basbousa

Basbousa  is a traditional middle eastern dessert. It is a semolina cake sweetened with sugar syrup. There are many ways of mslimv this delish recipe. Each of miidle eastern countries make it in their own special way.

RECIPE:

Ingredients:

Semolina cake
  • 1 cup granulated sugar 
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cup semolina
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • Nuts 
Syrup
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 2 cup water 





Directions:

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients of the cake (except nuts).
  2. Then add milk and mix well.
  3. Grease the pan and pour the batter. Let it rest till semolina absorbs all the milk.
  4. Till then prepare your sugar syrup.
  5. Add water and sugar in a pan and let it cook on medium heat till it boils and then turn off the stove.
  6. Then you can form any pattern on the cake u like diamond , square and fill the blocks with any nuts u like 
  7. Bake the semolina cake  in preheated oven at 170°C for 35 to 40 mins until it turns golden in colour.
  8. Pour the room temperature syrup on the cake.
  9. It is best if u let it rest for 4 hours or overnight before serving.

                                  SOUFFLE PANCAKE

Heard a lot of hype of pancake, as it is one of the most trending food. So, decided to give it a try. But as I did a lot of research and has seen flattening disasters and I was quite afraid and tried with small quantity that is quantity of ingredients is enough for one big pancake or two small.
 
WHAT IS SOUFFLE? 
 
Soufflé pancakes are nothing but eggs. Meringue created with eggs whites helps them to rise as the recipe don't calls for baking powder or baking soda. There fore egg whites has too been for long until stiff peaks are formed.
 
 
 
 
TIPS FOR A PERFECT PANCAKE:
  1. Beat your egg whites till then have stiff peaks but here you have to be careful as if you over beat the egg whites they will break into pieces if under beaten they wont be fluffy.
  2. Preheat your pan on lowest possible heat.
  3. Cook on low heat, with lid on, on a low heat.
  4. Add little bit of water i.e. around 1 tbsp. to keep the moisture in the pan.

Ingredients:                                                         
 
1 large egg (room temperature)
2 tbsp. all purpose flour
1 tbsp. milk
1 1/2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla essence
3 to 4 drops of lemon juice or vinegar to stabilize your meringue
 
Directions:
 
  • Separate the egg yolk and egg white.
  • In egg yolk add flour and milk, mix to combine and then add vanilla essence and mix until combined.
  • In egg whites add vinegar to stabilize the meringue, start with medium speed.
  • When the egg whites are foamy add sugar for about 3 mins and increase the speed to high.
  • Stop immediately stiff peaks are formed.
  • Fold the meringue in two batches in yolk mixture. But be careful don't mix it to fast as you will lose all the air you have filled in egg whites.
  • Grease the pan and preheat it and then either with a spoon or piping bag scoop the batter in the pan
  • Now put the lid let it cook on a very low heat as soon as you see sides are dry flip the pancakes and cook them on the other side add little water to keep the moisture.
  • Turn off the heat and let them rest for a min will lid on.
  • Serve hot.

sweet and crunchy brown sugar toast





Brown Sugar Toast


French toast is something which is quite famous among children and adults equally but who doesn't love to try new recipes.

Nowadays, due to corona every one is at home and is looking forward to do new things to kill time trying new recipes is one of them but for that one doesn't want to go grocery shopping. So, the recipe of brown toast is the recipe whose ingredients will be easily available in your pantry.

I wont drag my blog long coming towards the recipe.

 

Recipe:

Ingredients:

50 grams of butter
4tsp of sugar
2 slices of bread

Directions:

Melt 50 grams of butter in microwave.
Keeping the ratio of 1:1 of butter and sugar 4 tsp. of sugar mix it in the butter
Now spread it on one side of the slice
Heat the pan and put the butter side on the pan now spread on the other side too and turn the slice.
Do it with both slices. Your yummy brown sugar toast is ready to serve.

Nowadays, Korean food and drinks are all over internet. You must have heard about Dalgona coffee which was my first blog post, do give it try. Coming towards our topic Korean dishes like dalgona coffee, dalgona candy are newest trends on internet these days.
 
 Summer is in full swing all over the world who wouldn't love to have refreshing drinks to refresh themselves in this scorching heat. Iced coffee wont be a bad option as it is cold, sweet with a strong coffee flavor. After having 1 glass of iced coffee on a hot afternoon, you’ll feel incredibly refreshed. It’s a shot of cool energy.
 
The best part of this beverage is can be enjoyed by any person even on a diet like keto, paleo as you can use cream use can any sweetener like  honey, stevia, erythritol etc.

Ingredients: (For one serving)

 
  • 1 tablespoon instant coffee (I used star bucks French roast)
  • 2 tablespoons powdered creamer
  • 1 tablespoon honey (or sugar)
  • 1 cup cold water
  •  Ice cubes
  •  

    Directions:

    1. Combine the coffee, powdered creamer, honey, and the water in a quick shaker/blender.
    2. Cover and shake/blend for about 30 seconds Until mixed well.
    3. Pour into a glass and add the ice cubes. Stir well and serve

    best brownie recipe

     

    Brownie: Expectations v/s Reality brownie to die for

     
    Brownie is chocolate baked confectionery. It has less amount of flour and more amount of fats in it like butter and chocolate. Brownie have various varieties depending upon their ingredients ratio as more flour will give it a cakey texture while more addition of oil and brown sugar helps them to keep super moist.
     
     
    Mostly people expect that the chocolate cake and brownie are the same thing but the fact is they are both totally different things in numerous ways for example  oven temperature, ingredients ratio, baking time etc.



    Tips for a perfect brownie:
     
    
    1. Measure your flour correctly too much flour will not give it a fudgy texture.
     
    2. Don't over bake your brownies. Insert the toothpick at the edge rather than in the center if it comes out clean that means its all done.
     
    3. Don't over beat your batter after adding flour to the mixture just fold it in till its incorporated.

    Ingredients:

     
    1 cup white granule sugar
     
    1/2 cup brown sugar
     
    3 egg
     
    3/4 cup cocoa powder (I prefer Hershey's)
     
    1 cup flour
     
    1/2 tsp. salt
     
    1 cup melted butter (you can room temperature butter but it should not be to soft)
     
    1 tbsp. coffee
     
    1 tbsp. vanilla essence
    Do give it a try you wont regret.:)
     

    Recipe:

     
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and prep a 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl add white and brown sugars to the eggs and whisk together well for a shiny crust.
  • Add melted butter, vanilla extract, coffee and then mix together well.
  • Sift cocoa powder, flour, and salt into the bowl and mix until just combined.
  • Add batter to pan and smooth to the edges. You can add more chocolate chips before baking if desired.
  •  Bake for about 20 to 25 minutes. Though different oven temperature and timings may vary.

     Dalgona coffee is a beverage which is all over internet nowadays. It is all over Facebook, Instagram, YouTube. This is a beverage which is originally from Korea. Dalgona Coffee is a two-toned coffee that contains coffee froth on the top of the iced milk. It is a mixture of three ingredients i.e. sugar, coffee and milk. Now some claims that there is nothing new in this coffee as it is the new version of "beaten coffee" or in our desi language "phenti hui coffee".

    Now there are various types of this coffee like Matcha Dalgona, Dalgona milk tea, Dalgona coffee, Oreo milk Dalgona coffee etc. But, we will discuss here the most common of its type that is Dalgona coffee.

    I have tried it myself and personally I loved it. So, here I am sharing my recipe. Go ahead and try this recipe I am sure you will have a great time enjoying this in breakfast, or watching any Netflix series or reading novels.
     

    Ingredients:

     
      • 2 tablespoons Instant coffee
      • 2 tablespoons Sugar
      • 2 tablespoons Hot water
      • 1/2 cup  Milk
      • 2-3 Ice cubes

    Directions:

    1. In a large mixing bowl place coffee, sugar and hot water equally.
    2. Using a hand mixer or electric mixer, whisk until thick and creamy.
    3. Fill only 3/4 of a cup with cold milk and add ice cubes.
    4. Top it up with foamy whipped coffee. Mix well before drink. Enjoy!
